How to get to Cozumel?
Discoverymundo provide private transportation from the Cancun International Airport airport or any other place to the ferry station located in Playa del Carmen, once at the station you take the ferry to Cozumel and then reach your hotel or destination.
Discoverymundo provides the transportation from Cancun International Airport to the ferry Station, once you arrive to Cozumel you will need a taxi to take you to the hotel or destination, they’re located outside the ferry station.
Private Transportation to Cozumel
Cancun International Airport has 5 different terminals. Once you reserve, you will receive an email with the arrival instructions and the meeting point depending on the terminal. We will follow your flight during the day, until you arrive.
A Discoverymundo representative will be waiting for you outside the Cancun International Airport terminal holding a white and blue banner with the Discoverymundo logo, which will guide you to your assigned vehicle in the terminal parking area.
Note: Don’t take the "Family Exit", as our drivers are not allowed to meet you there. Please take the “Pre-book transportation” exit to the terminal.
Approximate time to get to Cozumel from the Cancun International Airport:
The approximate time to Cozumel is 2 hours and 30 minutes, it will take around 50 to 60 minutes to get to the Ferry Station in Playa del Carmen but the ferry schedules in Playa del Carmen is per hour and sometimes is necessary to wait for the ferry to leave for Cozumel.
After arriving at the station, the driver will help you with your bags, you can ask for any information you need and we will gladly explain it to you.
The ferry schedules from Playa del Carmen to Cozumel with Ultramar are:
- First ferry leaves 7:00 am, then every hour leaves one ferry and the last one at 11:00 pm.
The ferry schedules from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen with Ultramar are:
- First ferry leaves at 5:45 am, then from 7:00 am to 10:00 am every hour leaves one ferry and from 12:00 pm to 10 pm again every hour. Last ferry at 10:00 pm.
We recommend booking your roundtrip tickets in Ultramar Ferry to Cozumel in advance.
You can book your transportation and ferry tickets directly in Discoverymundo. So when you get to the ferry dock, you won’t lose time, you can immediately board the ferry that will take you to Cozumel (if it’s on time, sometimes is necessary to wait for the ferry) . The driver will provide round-trip tickets, its price is USD 28 adult and USD 23 for children per person and you can use them at any schedule.
Ultramar Policies
- Children under 5 years old don’t pay a ticket.
- Child from 6 to 11 years of age pays a kids ticket.
- Children over 12 years pay adult ticket
This ticket entitles you to travel insurance according to art. 127 of the general law of communication routes and their regulations. It gives you the right to transport up to 25 kg of luggage per person.

This ferry ticket is valid for any time and in any direction. Schedules subject to change without prior notice and under the responsibility of Ultramar. You must have it with you at all times and show it to whoever requires it.
For departure service to Cancun International Airport with Discoverymundo.
We organize your pickup back to the Cancun International Airport from the ferry station at Playa del Carmen. To avoid problems with the check in of your flight, we recommend leaving the ferry from Playa del Carmen 3 hours and a half in advance. Don’t worry if you do not agree with this time, you can change it at any time 24 hours before your departure service with no additional charge.
We ask you to board the Cozumel ferry 1 hour before our pick-up time.
