A Cenote is, in the Yucatán Peninsula, a type of freshwater-filled limestone sinkhole. The Mayan considered cenotes to be an entrance to their underworld or Xibalba where their gods live and their spirits reside after death. Since the 1980's, hundreds of these Cenotes have been explored and mapped by Cave Divers, exploration and penetration still continues.

What to Expect

There are a number of reasons that make the scuba diving in cenotes attractive to the divers: Diving conditions are not affected by weather, moderate water temperature [77f], barely discernible currents, large caverns and passageways and amazing underwater visibility.

There are two distinct forms of cenote diving: Cave Diving Swimming into a cave beyond the reach of natural sunlight. Cavern Diving Staying in sight of the entrance of a cave within the realm of natural sunlight.

Regularly, we realize the diving at Chikin-Ha or Chac-Mool Cenote, should you wish a different one, we can personalize it for you!

Children under 18 years old, people under the influence of alcohol or toxic substance and/or not experienced certified divers won’t be allowed to participate in this expedition for safety reasons.
